William Christopher Votypka

William Votypka has spent his legal career handling serious criminal matters in both Kansas and Missouri, with a particular focus on DUI/DWI cases from start to finish. Over the years, William has served as a Deputy County Attorney and later as a Senior Assistant District Attorney, where he prosecuted major felony cases including homicides, sex crimes, and drug offenses. He also held leadership roles in Johnson County as Criminal Division Chief and Drug Section Chief, positions that required both courtroom skill and sound judgment in high-stakes decisions. As a former Veteran’s Court Prosecutor, William worked closely with service members and veterans, balancing accountability with an understanding of the challenges they may face. He has tried multiple homicide, sex crime, and drug cases to jury verdict and have briefed and argued appeals before the Kansas and Missouri Courts of Appeals as well as the Kansas Supreme Court. In addition to court proceedings, William has argued matters before DUI, child support, and military administrative hearing officers. He is also an honorably discharged Army veteran.
