Oklahoma Sewer Lawyers is a division of BUXTON LAW GROUP, an Oklahoma City based law firm that specializes in lawsuits against governments and municipalities that have harmed and caused loss for Oklahomans. Founded and directed by trial lawyer Jim Buxton, Oklahoma Sewer Lawyers have successfully brought claims against Governments, Towns, Cities and Municipalities all across Oklahoma and have recovered millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts since 2007.

In Oklahoma, there are special laws that shield cities and municipalities from liability and it takes an experienced lawyer to navigate the Governmental Tort Claims process and get victims the compensation they deserve. Lead Trial Lawyer, Jim Buxton, pioneered the use of a “Nuisance” theory to maximize the recovery for sewer flood victims. Previously, a homeowner would be capped at $25,000.00 under the law in Oklahoma. Now that the courts recognize “nuisance” claims for the victims of sewer claims, the damages are now capped at $175,000.00 per occupant of the home. Since 2007 we have tried or settled cases all across Oklahoma and have recovered over millions for Oklahoma homeowners.

Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.
