Brad maintains a general civil business practice including business formation, transactions, and general civil litigation, including commercial litigation, large scale commercial collections litigation, construction litigation, business dispute litigation, and general business and intellectual property litigation, as well as labor and employment litigation defense, including defense of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Collective Action Claims.
Brad has also served as local counsel and co-counsel with Dallas-based intellectual property counsel in litigation matters involving copyright and trademark matters.
Brad graduated magna cum laude from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002 and has been licensed to practice in state courts in Texas since November of 2002. Brad was sworn in by the New Mexico Supreme Court and licensed to practice law in the state courts of New Mexico on October 16, 2017. Leveraging his undergraduate chemical engineering degree (B.S. ChE, 1992 Texas A&M University), seven (7) years of work experience for a major U.S. based Fortune 500 petrochemical company in engineering, human resources, and corporate materials and energy procurement job functions, as well as his Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) credits from Auburn University, Brad serves many business clients across Texas and New Mexico as an outside general business and civil litigation counsel. He also serves as a general civil practice attorney for many individual clients for one-time and repeat civil litigation, business formation and business transactional matters.
In Brad’s fifteen (15) years’ experience and nearly ten (10) years as a partner in one of Lubbock’s most prestigious and largest law firms, he has represented and advised clients in nearly every area of law touching small businesses in both Texas and New Mexico including business formations, ownership changes, sales and acquisitions (asset and stock/ownership purchase and sale transactions for partnerships, limited liability companies, and small corporations), contracts of all types, business litigation, real estate, oil & gas, construction (including construction finance, mechanics and materialman’s liens, and contractor disputes), real estate acquisition, leasing and finance, employment law (including wage, overtime, unemployment and discrimination disputes), executive, employment and independent contractor agreements and disputes, noncompete, nonsolicitation and nondisclosure agreements and disputes, intellectual property disputes (including trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights), collections, as well as personal injury and property / casualty litigation, insurance defense and other insurance litigation, and corporate succession planning, estate and wealth succession planning, wills, probate and estate administration.
