Ruth F. Kolb, Esquire has devoted her practice to Social Security disability law since 2003, representing clients at every stage—from initial applications to hearings and appeals. Before forming Ruth Kolb Law Offices, LLC, she worked with Osterhout Disability Law, LLC and also supported policy efforts for children and families through the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Child Development. Ruth’s career has been driven by one goal: helping people access benefits and resources that can be true lifelines for individuals and their families. As Ruth often notes, the Social Security disability program was meant to pay benefits promptly to people who cannot work, but the process has become difficult to navigate, and many people who apply on their own are denied even when they qualify. She believes legal representation provides both practical guidance and strong advocacy—and can make a real difference in the outcome of a claim. Ruth earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law (1984), an MPM from Carnegie Mellon University (2000), and a B.S. from Purdue University (1981). Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with family. She is also a frequent community speaker on Social Security disability topics.
