Mariam is a seasoned trial attorney dedicated to advocating for plaintiffs and their families in personal injury and wrongful death cases. With a client-first philosophy, she believes in delivering justice with integrity and ensuring open communication throughout every case. Her career began at a firm litigating complex medical negligence cases, later expanding her expertise to include auto accidents, premises liability, construction negligence, products liability, and medical negligence. As a former partner at her previous firm, Mariam now leads her own practice, continuing her commitment to vigorous and ethical representation.
Mariam has first-chaired numerous jury trials across Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Federal Courts, achieving record-setting verdicts, including a $3.3 million medical malpractice verdict in 2022 and a $15.2 million construction negligence verdict in 2018. She has also secured significant appellate victories, including arguments before the Illinois Supreme Court. Recognized as a SuperLawyer since 2024 and previously a Rising Star, Mariam was honored with the NIU College of Law Young Alum of the Year Award in 2020. Outside her practice, she is a devoted mother, wife to a Chicago Police Officer, and an active member of her community, serving on the NIU Law Alumni Council and her son’s school council.
