Ms. Lamar is an attorney with substantial experience in corporate, information technology and HIPAA privacy and security law. She represents clients in health care, financial services, software development, cloud-based services, manufacturing and logistics. Prior to joining Liss & Lamar, P.C., she was a partner with McDermott Will & Emery in the corporate and health law departments. She frequently assists clients in negotiating technology licenses, cloud-based service contracts, business acquisitions, joint ventures and outsourcing arrangements. Health law services include advice and strategies to reduce risk with respect to HIPAA privacy and security, electronic health records (EHRs), meaningful use incentives, alternative payment models and health information exchanges (HIEs).
Ms. Lamar received her B.S. degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Illinois and her J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School. She has served on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association and has chaired its Technology Committee and its Health Information Technology Practice Group. She is a frequent author and speaker on EHRs, privacy, security, cloud computing and outsourcing.
