About Joseph Rodgers

Since 1982, Joseph J. Rodgers has been certified as a Criminal Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, United States District Court for New Jersey, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and Supreme Court of United States. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. Before entering private practice, he served as a Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, an Assistant Prosecutor for Passaic County, and the First Assistant Prosecutor for Cape May County. He also served as Prosecutor for the Boroughs of Avalon and Wildwood Crest.

Mr. Rodgers is a member of the Supreme Court Board on Trial Attorney Certification, the Supreme Court Committee on the Rules of Evidence, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association (past Trustee and Legislative Committee Chair), the Cape May County Bar Association (past President) and the Vincent S. Haneman American Inn of Court.

Mr. Rodgers is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a prestigious organization limited to lawyers, judges and teachers of outstanding attainment, who are dedicated to the objectives of the American Bar Association.

Joe is a quiet professional. If you need someone to dive in, explore all options and commit to defending you with a calm demeanor, directed fury and well prepared argument, he’s your guy. He dug in, interviewed me and committed to saving me from injustice. Joe’s calmness, determined demeanor and thoughtful explanations is what you need in a court room to hold the jury’s attention and relate a story to them. His knowledge of the law is impressive to say the least and displays his vast knowledge, accumulated from over 30 years of trial room experience. Lastly, he doesn’t soften the blow of the law, but is up front on realistic and valid options. Plainly, if there’s a chance, he’ll explore and exploit it.
