Jonathan D. Tamkin, a partner in Tamkin & Hochberg, LLP, was born and raised in Boston and received his B.A. in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his juris doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. Jon is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New Hampshire, the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts and United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit. During law school, Jon worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives, Committee on The Judiciary, as a Research Analyst.Jon served as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Appeals Court and was Associate Corporate Counsel in the legal department of National Amusements, Inc., a motion picture and entertainment company headquartered in Massachusetts which is the parent company of Viacom, Inc. At National Amusements, his experiences included all phases of commercial real estate development, construction, zoning, corporate law, securities regulation and business transactions. Jon later worked in real estate development and management and then formed a law firm with several former legal associates at National Amusements where he focused his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, municipal law and zoning, real estate development, construction, business and corporate law.
