Hired Law Firm

I am not overly fond of most lawyers. They are of a different personality type than mine and it just doesn't fit smoothly most of the time. I worked mostly with Mr. Dennis Chalupa and I had a wonderful experience. He is knowledgeable, practical, professional and a person of great integrity. I highly recommend him and his firm to anyone looking for legal counsel in central Iowa.

Hired Law Firm

It took 31 months to finalize a straight forward, non contested estate. Randy Caldwell never returned calls, even when specifically requested to call back. He let his assistant handle everything. When the assistant when on maternity leave, nothing was handled. We asked for the taxes to be filed early without delay. They waited 3 months, then finally filed them 3 days before they were due which caused urgent signatures to be required. We were obviously never a priority for the office, despite the large payment they would be receiving.

Hired Law Firm

Gilbert Caldwell did nothing in my divorce to help me. He’s terribly over priced (e.g. one email sent by his assistant cost $38!). and I can’t see that he did anything at all to help me. Now I live in government subsidized housing and can’t afford to buy enough groceries. Do not use this lawyer to represent you if your husband is divorcing you or you too will go hungry. His assistant was my only point of contact accept for two meetings before mediation. It feels like all he did was fill out cookie cutter forms and give them to the judge. He did no research on precedence before mediation nor did he bother to look anything up when my X’s lawyer sited another case where the wife got way too little. He did not advocate for me or fight for me. I was left twisting in the wind. I would have been better off without him by about $10k!
