About Seth R. Smith

Born and raised in Licking County, Attorney Seth Smith earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. He went on to graduate from Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh, North Carolina. On return to Ohio, Seth interned in the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office where he discovered his passion was actually for criminal defense.Since pursuing private practice, Seth has represented numerous clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors and federal crimes. Seth also regularly practices in Franklin County Domestic Relations and Licking County Domestic Relations court representing clients in complicated custody battles, divorces, and other family issues. Seth is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoys training in his free time along with spending time with his wife and children.

Hired Attorney

In my opinion, Seth is a terrible attorney. It appears all his 5 star reviews online on many other websites are all fake reviews and made up reviews that Seth posts himself as it all sounds over the top and all his self-reviews use the same type of words. I can tell you that Seth isn’t knowledgable in any one area of the law because he does criminal law and family law matters instead of just focusing on one area like the smart and specialized attorneys do. Seth really messed up my divorce case and I had to fire him mid way through and hire a different attorney. When I compared how Seth acted and performed compared to my new attorney, the difference was night and day. I think Seth is arrogant and low IQ. Keep away!

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
