About Calcagni & Kanefsky, LLP

Calcagni & Kanefsky, LLP was founded in April 2014 by former federal prosecutors Tom Calcagni and Eric Kanefsky, who first met while handling high-profile false-claims, healthcare-fraud, commercial-fraud, and public-corruption matters at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. After being appointed and unanimously confirmed to lead New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs—each serving successive terms as Director—they oversaw a 600-person law-enforcement agency regulating securities and healthcare professionals and prosecuting hundreds of consumer-fraud and professional-misconduct cases. Tom then rose to First Assistant Attorney General, managing the State Police, Insurance Fraud Prosecutor’s Office, and multiple divisions within New Jersey’s Department of Law and Public Safety. Building on this breadth of federal and state experience, they created a boutique litigation and investigations firm in Newark and New York. Today, Calcagni & Kanefsky, LLP comprises more than twenty former prosecutors, regulators, and seasoned trial lawyers, relentlessly drawing on their public-service backgrounds to guide companies, institutions, and professionals through their most sensitive challenges.
