O1 visa for a Venezuelan lawyer

    Visa type: O1 visa

    Who: Transactional lawyer from Venezuela

Background: The client was needed in the US to h
le important deals for his employer, but did not have other viable visa options. Its not very common for lawyers to receive O1 visas, but in this case we thought that was the best strategy for a client. This was particularly unique due to the difficulties faced by professionals in the troubled Venezuelan system. My work: After carefully analyzing
eliminating alternative options, we suggested applying for an O-1 visa. This is not a visa category typically used for attorneys, but due to our careful crafting of the case, we won a case for a client.

    Result: O1 approved

Green Card for a South Korean national with a criminal record

Visa type: Marriage-Based Green CardWho: South Korean national with a promising career who deserved a second chance

Background: The client was married to a US citizen, who sponsored him for a green card. However, he had a criminal incident in his past that could have been fatal to his green card case.

My work: We requested all records about the incident,
performed a careful analysis of the applicable law. We worked with a client to draft a statement addressing the issue
prepared a legal memo of the applicable law to make it clear to the government that he should still be granted a green card despite his past. We also personally represented him during the green card interview to make sure there were no issues at that stage.

    Result: Green Card issued
