About Paul Scott Hugel

Paul S. Hugel has been engaged in civil and criminal litigation since 1993. His civil practice includes the representation of individuals and businesses in commercial disputes and in all phases of state and federal administrative investigations, particularly against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His criminal practice includes representation of individuals charged in state and federal courts in matters such as securities fraud, bank fraud, enterprise corruption and insurance fraud.
Paul also represents and advises a number of companies and individuals involved in the online gambling industry. He represented one of the first people indicted for violation of federal gambling laws arising from online gambling activity – charges that were eventually withdrawn by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Paul has lectured at seminars and bar association conferences on online gambling and is the author of several articles on the subject. He is on the Editorial Board of the Gaming Law Review and Economics, published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.
