John Amato Jr. is a litigation associate at Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP with experience litigating a wide variety of claims. His experience includes drafting of pleadings and motions, engaging in discovery, retention of experts and investigators, conducting depositions, appearing at court conferences and hearings, attending mediations, negotiating settlements, and preparing for trial.
Prior to joining GSLZ, Mr. Amato practiced at Wade Clark Mulcahy LLP as a litigation and insurance coverage associate, where he represented domestic and international insurers on first- and third-party bases in both state and federal court. Mr. Amato strategized and litigated seeking cost-effective claims resolution and provided insurers with guidance on liability and exposure risk.
During law school, Mr. Amato worked at a managing general agency which underwrote Representation & Warranty policies for M&A transactions. He also worked at a boutique commercial litigation firm, where he assisted in drafting legal memoranda on diverse legal topics, ranging from bankruptcy to intellectual property. In connection with his recognition as a New York Court of Appeals Fellow, he also served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Eileen Bransten of the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, New York County.
Before pursuing law, Mr. Amato worked in a variety of production, talent management, and business roles within the entertainment industry, including with a renowned global advertising and consulting agency.
