Harriet is a true force of nature! I was the victim of parental alienation, which was a nightmare. Thanks to her, my family was protected. Harriet fought for my rights and never lost sight of the bottom line, which was the best interests of my children! I highly recommend Harriet and her firm. They are the best!

What sets Harriet apart is not only her legal acumen, but also her professionalism and integrity. She is thoughtful, composed under pressure, and consistently focused on achieving the best possible outcomes. As her client, I trust her implicitly during what have been some of the most challenging moments in my life.

Harriet Newman Cohen and her daughter, Martha Cohen Stine, were my lawyers during a difficult, high profile, high conflict divorce. I have suggested this mother-daughter team to my family members and friends. They know the law, they know the system, they know the judges, and they are fierce and relentless advocates. You don't want them on the other side.

Harriet Cohen is the best damn lawyer I have ever worked with. I had worked with a few lawyers prior to coming to Harriet's firm. She is extremely intelligent, cool, calm and collective but could be a bull dog when she needs to be. Harriet was always available for me and made me feel like I was the only client she had. It seem like she was up all night working on my case but was always waiting for me with a smile on her face when I showed up at her office.

Funti v. Andrews, Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division, First Department 06 Jan 2026 250 N.Y.S.3d 466 New YorkOverview: Since the parties participated in a ceremony at a Coptic Orthodox Church without obtaining a marriage license, exchanging rings, or making vows,
testimony showed that these elements were required for a valid Coptic marriage, the ceremony was not properly solemnized under N.Y. Dom. Rel. Law § 12,
thus the parties were not validly married.
