In years past--and for a number of years--we had a succession of landlords in our building whose sole purpose was to vacate the building and elude rent-regulations in a variety of ways--with the ultimate purpose of evicting us. We organized as tenants and then hired Anne Jaffe. She's an extraordinarily smart lawyer. She's also tough and focussed and highly intelligent (Did I say that already? Well, I'll repeat it!) and resourceful. She inspired confidence in us because she herself was so confident--and with good cause!
