Mr. Ebanks began his legal career in 1994 as an associate at a Long Island law firm. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Ebanks was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, where he successfully prosecuted numerous criminal defendants in Bronx Criminal Court. Mr. Ebanks’ criminal practice is expansive and covers both State and Federal courts with cases in over twenty-one counties and all four federal districts in the state of New York. He has represented everyone from Rappers to Rabbis on a variety of cases ranging from “mischief to murder.”
Mr. Ebanks is also responsible for setting precedent at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, as well as the Civil Service Commission in the area of Dole, employee drug-testing cases. He is admitted to the Bar of New York State, the United States Supreme Court, as well as the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York.
With over 100 trials under his belt, Mr. Ebanks has developed a reputation for his incisive surgical approach to trial work. He has a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has also been a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association, New York State Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He is a recognized member of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Defense Lawyers and the American Law Society.
After years of successfully practicing law in a wide variety of fields, Mr. Ebanks embarked on the industry of representing professional athletes. Mr. Ebanks is a certified Agent with the NBPA and has negotiated, drafted and reviewed numerous employment and endorsement contracts. His expansive legal background has allowed him to maximize his client’s potential earnings while protecting their interests in all aspects of their lives both on and off the court.
