At Carey Leisure & Neal, we put CARE first! Our firm has been serving Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Hillsborough countries for over 20 Years. We advocate for those injured due to someone else's negligence.

Our firm traces its roots back to 1984. In March of that year, Tom Carey founded the predecessor of the current firm in Clearwater. He had lost his wife, Joni, to a drunk driver one year earlier, and became an activist in the fight against drunk driving. The firm specializes primarily in Personal Injury claims involving Auto Negligence, Pedestrian Accidents, Slip and Falls, Dog Bites, Wrongful Death and Cemetery, Crematory and Funeral Home Malpractice. Serving Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Hillsborough Counties, the fully staffed firm handles cases within the entire state of Florida. I honestly can’t say enough about this law firm and all the people who work there, it’s a true team and family vibe. Everyone pitches in to support you as a person, to work hard on your case and to try their best to get you Justice. They work so diligently to effectively communicate with you every single step of the way. Attention to detail and kindness, infinite amounts of both knowledge and passion for their clients, cases and causes. Professional but relatable NOT stuffy which is so important, I wanted to be a part of my case and understand everything and have a say, not just be a person in a chair that is talked about, and talked at but never talked to…and they delivered! I was included in everything and most importantly I WAS HEARD by my amazing team of professionals especially my lawyer Matthew Carney who was literally amazing!! He passionately defended me when opposing counsel was coming at me disrespectfully. He fought hard, was realistic & told me the hard truths of my case.

Working with Mr. Matthew S. Carney was a very smooth process. Matthew made sure I understood every single component of the legal process and communicated details and updates about my case in an extremely timely manner. Being as young as I am, I was at a complete loss about what to do after my accident and what a lawsuit even entailed. I never once felt “out of the loop” or not knowledgeable about what was going on. He was aware of all the fine details of my case and I never doubted that he was fighting for me. There was no need to wonder if there are better attorneys out there, because he is phenomenal. Working with this firm I never felt as I was just another file.
