specializes in litigation, particularly in the areas of insurance defense, complex business defense, and medical malpractice defense. She serves as the General Counsel and Board Attorney for the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association and as Conflicts General Counsel for the Louisiana Patient’s Compensation Fund Oversight Board. She previously served as the General Counsel and Board Attorney for the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, and as Secretary for the Community Hospital Coalition and Family Security Holdings, LLC. She is a registered lobbyist, assisting clients with a broad spectrum of legislative activities and practice before many agencies of state government. Her extensive litigation practice includes defense of complex multi-party litigation before virtually every state and federal court in Louisiana, at the district and appellate court levels. She previously served as Commissioner of Administration for the State of Louisiana, the highest appointive position in state government, responsible for the operations and finances of state government, and as Chief of Staff of the Governor’s Office. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of the business concerns of the private sector, the regulatory obligations of the government agencies responsible for overseeing same, and the risks and benefits of litigation versus amicable resolution of disputes, and is able to utilize this breadth of knowledge and experience to find the best and most efficient resolution of most problems.
