Richard G. Duplantier, Jr. is a senior partner at Galloway, a highly respected trial lawyer, and an accomplished business consultant who brings a critical and innovative approach to case handling and litigation. Having significant expertise in both litigation and transactional matters, he views cases and deals from various angles, thoroughly understanding his clients’ business and corporate priorities.

Rick focuses his commercial litigation practice in the areas of products liability, construction, environmental, all facets of professional liability, as well as insurance defense and coverage. His robust experience also includes the immediate response, assessment, and defense of catastrophic incidents and explosions. Rick has a substantial and extensive history of trials to verdict, achieving a trial success rate of over eighty percent. He has partnered with clients in the initial creation and implementation of business development and strategic planning, setting a strong foundation to achieving their goals.

Additionally, Rick represents clients in the entertainment industry in litigation and in the areas of contracts, trademark, residuals, and other general entertainment law practice concerns. He has successfully handled and resolved matters for promoters, record labels, production companies, individual performers, and their representatives in both the U.S. and Europe.

Rick is regularly requested to conduct seminars around the country focusing on risk management, and his sessions educate, increase risk awareness, and assist clients in avoiding malpractice pitfalls. As a prominent leader in the legal community, he has been recognized by numerous organizations, including Best Lawyers and as one of the Leaders in Law in the state of Louisiana by City Business, while maintaining an AV Preeminent peer rating with Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to his practice, Rick volunteers in the community and provides integral leadership to various board positions. Furthermore, he serves as Commissioner of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Authority-East following a nomination and appointment by Governor John Bel Edwards.
