About Steven D Altman

Steven D. Altman is a partner and founding member of the firm. After graduating from Suffolk Law School in Boston in 1969, he enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard, where he spent six years. Once he completed basic training, Mr. Altman started his legal career in the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office as a member of the Criminal Justice Division.

Fortunately, Mr. Altman found an opportunity to fulfill his goal of becoming a criminal trial attorney when he was offered a position in the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. He remained there for five years, when he left to enter private practice. During that five-year period, he tried a wide variety of cases, ranging from murder and rape, to narcotics, wiretap cases, and thefts. For two of those years he was Supervisor of the Narcotics and Organized Crime Task Force. In 1978, decided to form a partnership with his former colleague from the Prosecutor’s Office, Joseph Benedict.

Hired Attorney Steven D Altman

Honestly, terrible. This is a hammer that only knows about some nails. Timid in court, belligerent as a person. 0 rating out of anything. He was aggressive and narcissistic in his personal demeanor, generally hard to talk to. He brags about his getting people off in criminal court, and about his long standing relationships with the juris, but honestly its just bragging about bragging. Arrogance, its like meta arrogance, he is extremely proud of his not listening and knowing everything. He gave terrible legal advice, like genuinely terrible and prfoundly negative on my life, and absolutely put me in a worse position. He was unpleasant, unsuccessful, and all around pretty poor as a man. Not to mention expensive. Everything wrong with a lawyer. Had relationships (or bragged about) with courts and police, which often doesn't matter unless you're a cop accused of something. So. In my situation 100% a rip off and offensive. Maybe he is worth putting up with in certain positions.
