I have been in and out of the system and did several years of prison time and caught a new case and Steve did exactly what he said he was gonna do and got me the exact results I expected and paid for. Steve Altman is the man and the best attorney in Middlesex county if not the state !

Philip Nettl did an expungement for me and was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. The entire process was smooth and I felt assured it was being handled well through Mr. Nettl's explanations. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders after it was all finalized. I am forever in debt to him and the excellent work he did.

Years ago I obtained counsel with Benedict and Altman, specifically Joshua Altman. Upfront Joshua Altman reviewed my case to determine whether or not he could effectively assist in my case given the complexity of it. Joshua stated that he didn't want to just take my money unless he could manage to have an impact on the outcome. Obviously, the firm is not out to just take money from clients, but rather more so interested in making a difference in the quality of representation, in turn then affecting the overall quality of that individuals life. Joshua did not make any outlandish promises and/or guarantees. Instead, he advised me of the approach and strategy providing me with the utmost prompt updates throughout the entire case. In conclusion, there are many shysters in this business, however, Benedict and Altman is most definitely NOT one of those firms and I strongly recommend them. Thank you Joshua.

I hired Mr Altman's for help with the federal case I have. He led me to believe that it wasn't as serious as it turned out to be. He offered very little defense or explanation for what I did at the sentencing .As soon as the case was over he abandoned me in a town that I'm not familiar with Trenton Walk out the courtroom and walked away from me left me there to fend for myself. I guess I expected a little more for 25,000

Steven Altman is not to be trusted. He sandbagged my case and as a result I was convicted of a crime that never happened. I did not live in New Jersey when the crime allegedly occurred. Altman did not want me to testify in my own defense. When I disagreed, he turned to my family and convinced them that it was not in my best interest to testify. I took my family's advice, I did not testify. The case was he said/she said and every lawyer I have spoken to said they would have insisted that I testify. After my conviction, I was told by a friend that a prosecutor's investigator that he knew, had told him that I was going to be convicted because Altman sold me out to the prosecutor. I am basically serving a life sentence because of Altman's counterintuitive advice. The man is not trustworthy.

Honestly, terrible. This is a hammer that only knows about some nails. Timid in court, belligerent as a person. 0 rating out of anything. He was aggressive and narcissistic in his personal demeanor, generally hard to talk to. He brags about his getting people off in criminal court, and about his long standing relationships with the juris, but honestly its just bragging about bragging. Arrogance, its like meta arrogance, he is extremely proud of his not listening and knowing everything. He gave terrible legal advice, like genuinely terrible and prfoundly negative on my life, and absolutely put me in a worse position. He was unpleasant, unsuccessful, and all around pretty poor as a man. Not to mention expensive. Everything wrong with a lawyer. Had relationships (or bragged about) with courts and police, which often doesn't matter unless you're a cop accused of something. So. In my situation 100% a rip off and offensive. Maybe he is worth putting up with in certain positions.

Working with this attorney was a horrible experience. I have never had an attorney with that I had to walk on eggshells and be selective in the concerns I had because they were so easily offended nor have i ever had an attorney who made me feel as though he was siding with prosecution and had no concern with my freedom. Steven was the most uncompassionate, nonmotivated, forgetful, lousy, and horrible defense i have ever heard of. If you want your freedom don't consider his lawyer as your defense He is a total waste of money the absolute worse. I really believe he has Alzheimer's with no disrepect to him' his reviews definitely need to be updated.
