My Dad died in November of 2019. I hired Michael McVerry to help close out the estate. It's been over 5 years and things are still not settled. It is a very simple and small estate so it should have been relatively simple. He hasn't responded to my emails in months (not uncommon for him unfortunately). I'm trying to do this from across the country, otherwise I'd be on his doorstep daily until this was resolved. In the past I've been told that they got really busy with RE closings, so I can tell where I stand... He did help us with the closing on my Dad's house and that went smoothly, but do not hire him for estate work.
He does not respond to communication in a timely manner and does not keep his clients updated on the progression of cases.
He's not a bad lawyer. My daughter got married without my husbands permission, so I contacted Mike about our daughters disobedience. Mike game me some tips on how to understand my husband when he would hit my daughter for not being respectful. However in the end Mike did not help bring my daughter home nor punish her for getting married without our permission. The good news is my husband learned that as long as he is drunk, he can't be held responsible for his actions.
