About Mr. William H. Ball

William joined the firm in 2019 after completing a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Michael W. Binkley and the Honorable Joseph A. Woodruff in the Twenty-First Judicial District Circuit and Chancery Courts in Williamson County, Tennessee. As a law clerk, William authored initial drafts of orders and memoranda articulating decisions made by the trial judges in civil, domestic, and criminal cases. He also assisted in the development of the Twenty-First Judicial District’s Complex Commercial Dispute Docket. Through the excellent mentorship of Judge Binkley and Judge Woodruff, William learned the importance of rigorous preparation and attention to detail in all aspects of practicing law.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as a finance major, William decided to return to Nashville and earned a J.D. from Belmont College of Law, where he received a Health Law Certificate and the Best Performance Award for Health Law Practicum Course. As a law student, William interned with Dollar General’s in-house counsel, where he experienced the unique challenges a large corporation faces on a daily basis. During this internship, he researched and cataloged employment law regulations and statutes for stores located throughout the United States, attended a board of directors meeting and annual shareholders meeting, and shadowed the employment law, securities law, and business law divisions. While in school, William also competed in the 2015 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, which attracts more than three hundred law schools from all around the world, and was later elected as Vice President of the Belmont Board of Advocates International Arbitration Team.

Since joining the firm, William assists local developers and builders in real estate transactions ranging from drafting purchase and sale agreements, declarations of covenants, conditions, and restrictions, commercial and residential lease agreements, and other related loan documents. William provides legal guidance for homeowner and condominium associations on a multitude of matters, including restrictions enforcement and interpretation of governing documents. William also advises local business owners about the process for acquiring a Tennessee state and local liquor and beer license.

In his free time, William enjoys spending time with his family, attending Tennessee Titans and Tennessee Volunteers football games, and golfing.
