About Salvador M. Hernandez

Sal Hernandez has more than 20 years of experience counseling clients through complex civil litigation in state and federal courts always keeping in mind the client's goals. Mr. Hernandez also helps clients solve their business problems before problems turn into litigation. He has represented a variety of corporate and individual clients in the healthcare industry, financial services industry and others. Mr. Hernandez has tried matters involving breach of contract, restrictive covenants, misappropriation, trade secrets, tortious interference with contract, and violation of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act. He also has significant experience in successfully obtaining and defending against injunctions and temporary restraining orders. Mr. Hernandez appears as counsel in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the American Arbitration Association on claims surrounding restrictive covenants, breach of contract, interference with contractual relations, unfair competition, raiding, suitability of investments and breach of fiduciary duty. Mr. Hernandez serves on the Advisory Committee on Rules for the United States Court of Appeal for the Sixth Circuit. He served as Chairman of Nashville Metropolitan Government's Transportation Licensing Commission from 2013 to 2024 after having served as a commissioner from 2011 to 2013. He served in 2019 as Secretary to the Board for the Nashville Bar Association. Prior to serving as Secretary, Mr. Hernandez served as co-chair for three years for the bar association’s Federal Courts Committee from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, Mr. Hernandez also volunteered as a member of the U.S. District Court’s committee to propose revisions to the Local Rules of Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Before joining the firm, Mr. Hernandez served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gilbert S. Merritt, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, 1999-2000.
