About Northstar Litigation, P.C.

We are a law firm that provides the full suite of services necessary to develop and execute a strategy to achieve your goal in litigation or an investigation, or both, within our practice focus.

Our Vision

Every case needs a "north star" -- Meaning, we need to know where we are aiming. What is your goal? The answer to that question charts our course for your case. It is absolutely essential to establish this as soon as possible because it guides our every step. It is perfectly fine for your goal or "north star" to change, but we always have to have one.

We execute this vision with three values in mind: goal orientation, expertise, and communication.

Your north star provides the coordinates. Our values provide the compass.

Goal-Orientation

What does it mean to be goal-orientated? The ethical rules governing the licenses held by attorneys require that that the attorney abide by the client's decision regarding the objectives of the representation. In other words, the client is in charge of the objective and the attorney is in control of the strategy and execution of the representation.

In your consultation, you will be asked about your goal. You will be asked about issues that we should be aware of which may bear upon your goal. Collateral impacts of litigation and investigations are critical to understand.

To understand, establish, and orientate ourselves to your goal is a core value for us.

Expertise

What is legal expertise? Expertise means subject matter knowledge and experience. It means knowing the answer, but, it also includes knowing what you do not know. A lawyer should be comfortable saying, "I don't know but I'll find out." A lawyer should rely on investigators and experts witnesses when the particular expertise required exceeds their own. A lawyer should not just give you answers but also help you understand how to think about the situation in order to ask better questions.

The law is a vast and truly ancient landscape. The process of determining and interpreting the applicable law to a given situation is highly complex even if it did not rely upon human beings like opposing counsel, investigators, the judge, and witnesses. Human beings are complex unto themselves -- full of genetic and environmentally derived cognitive preferences.

Exhibiting expertise and knowing when and how we need to expand our expertise is a core value to us.

Communication

What do we mean when we say "communication?" The easy and obvious answer is that you should expect to always be informed about all court dates, deadlines, and other updates.

However, we strive to go a step further. You should expect to hear from us regularly. There should never be a month -- or in most cases, no more than several weeks -- that passes without us being in touch. You should expect to occasionally get calls, texts, or emails after hours and on the weekends. You should expect diligence.

Even more than that, you need to understand what is happening. So how often we speak with you is actually sometimes less important than the quality of the communication. Your attorney should educate you on every aspect of the process so you can better contribute to the representation. You are not just a spectator.

Regular and diligent communication is a core value for us.
