About Mr. Joshua Voltaire Lindsey

Prior to forming Lindsey Amonette + Glassford, PLLC (formerly Lindsey Amonette Nemer + Glassford, PLLC), Joshua practiced law at nationally-recognized law firms in Houston, Texas, and in Nashville, Tennessee.  Moving to Nashville in 2003 for his wife’s medical fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Joshua practiced law in the labor and employment division at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, PLLC, and then as an attorney in both the litigation and corporate divisions at Bass Berry & Sims PLC. When one of Joshua’s own family member was adversely affected by a very difficult divorce in Middle Tennessee, Joshua followed a calling to apply the client-centered approach to the practice of law that he had learned at large law firms to the arena of family law in Middle Tennessee, founding Lindsey + Amonette, PLLC in 2010 to assist clients better in their times of need.  It’s the best professional decision he has ever made. While Joshua litigates divorces regularly, he is also a founding and sustaining member of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance ("MTCA"), and Joshua has a robust and extremely active collaborative divorce practice wherein he represents his clients in the collaborative divorce process.  Joshua describes collaborative divorce as "the humane divorce process that gives my clients the very best chance at a positive co-parenting relationship at the end of the divorce."   Born in Houston, Texas, Joshua was graduated from St. John’s School in 1990 and then from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, in 1994.  At Sewanee, Joshua received his B.A. magna cum laude in Religion and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.  From Sewanee, Joshua attended Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received his J.D. cum laude in 1997 and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor society Joshua currently serves on the Board of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance, where he serves as the Director of Public Education.  He was also the Co-Chair of the Domestic Relations Committee of the Nashville Bar Association.  Joshua and his wife, Elizabeth, are active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and have three (3) children.

Hired Attorney

Joshua was the only lawyer I met who used words like “win-win” and “collaborate.” He took the time to listen to me and understand what was important to me, and he executed on my case based on my values and what I wanted to get out of my divorce. {para}In addition he had the experience and expertise in international family law that I needed. {para}Finally, his billing practices were more than fair, which is a reflection of who Joshua is and his values.{para}I give him my highest recommendation.
