About R. Scott Joye

Scott Joye has been practicing law since 1996. Upon graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Mr. Joye worked as a law clerk for the late Honorable Sydney T. Floyd, assisting Judge Floyd in the administration of his duties. Mr. Joye was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1996 and began practicing law as an Assistant Solicitor in the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office. He was responsible for the prosecution of all types of major criminal cases in the Court of General Sessions. In 1998 Mr. Joye entered private practice in his own firm, R. Scott Joye, P. A. Ten years later, that practice has evolved into Joye, Nappier, Risher, & Hardin.

Scott is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, concentrating the majority of his practice to the area of criminal defense, with a special emphasis in DUI defense. He has successfully tried a variety of cases ranging from noise ordinances to murder charges in Georgetown and Horry Counties, and across the PeeDee. In addition, Mr. Joye also handles personal injury cases as well as wrongful death cases, and has achieved high six-figure settlements. He has also handled federal cases in South Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio.
