James B. Hogan accepted a non certified check a payment at my closing. This delayed funding for 10 days. He should have required certified funds like ALL attorney's I have ever known. The closing was on 7/5/19 I get paid on the 14th the buyer has collected 1/2 months rent before I even get paid. The public needs to be warned about such policies.
I used this law firm for a very simple sale of property to a cash buyer. The Law firm recorded the sale of the property 4 Day's after signing. Once they recorded the Deed, they did not release the funds to me. When I contacted them about not receiving the proceeds from the sale, I was told I would get my money when I get it and was hung up on! I have been a realtor for 18 years. I have never had an attorney act so unprofessional. I still have not received my funds.
My wife and I hired James Hogan for some legal work and arbitration followed. After we lost are case these are the opinions we share of James Hogan and are experience : 1 We were grossly over charged for are legal services. 2 We thought James was more knowledgeable in real-estate law, we were wrong. 3 We thought James was unprepared, and lacking proper answers in hearings. 4 Never again will we use James Hogan or the Starnes Aycock Law firm.
