Over the course of his 30-plus year career, Thomas J. Nichols has represented thousands of clients and organized hundreds of business entities. Tom has extensive work experience at the state and federal levels. He is well versed in both business entity law (e.g. corporations, partnerships, LLCs) and tax law (e.g. income tax, self-employment tax, estate tax) as well as other tax considerations involved in structuring of business ventures.

Tom is uniquely qualified to advise businesses on choice of entity issues including the nuances of the various corporate structures available under Wisconsin law and cutting edge tax income planning. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
