Sarah is not organized and despite us having a very straightforward divorce, she made mistakes and made the process overly stressful (relative to how easy it could have been). I am very disappointed. I am very glad it was mediation and she wasn’t representing me!
Our guardian ad litem for a post-judgment violation of our stipulations for placement. This was a straightforward petition with hard evidence to support my case. We had three pretrials and at the end of the third, she still had not made up her mind on the facts of the case. We brought in a child specialist, and what Sarah said in court did not reflect what the specialist had told us. Sarah confidently stated that there were no negative effects on the kids from the events surrounding the motion, and she grossly misrepresented what all the specialists she consulted had told her. I know because I asked the specialists after and they were surprised by Sarah's choice of words. When I asked Sarah why she's saying such different things, she responded with a condescending email berating me for even asking about this stuff. I chose to withdraw the motion to protect my kids from her. Her recommendations made no sense, and she simply refused to put in the work required to even form an opinion.
Don't choose Sarah if you want someone organized or well-versed in divorce. In the one meeting I was billed for, she was completely unprepared, it was very clear she hadn't read the documents and tried to cover for that by saying I didn't send the correct ones, even though she had confirmed in writing that she had gotten them. She also gave me bad advice that could have really ruined a lot for me financially in the process.
Very unprepared for every meeting. Gave advice that school choice could be handled after the divorce was final which has now put my kids in a terrible situation and can't be reversed. Cost me tens of thousands because she didn't put the work in and opposing counsel mopped the floor with her. Missed error and after error. I mostly felt like she was actively working against me.
Sarah Whiting took our daughter away from us and everyone that loves her. She didn't do anything as a guardian at litem. She should be disbarred.
