Attorney Corey Saffold was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and brings a diverse background in law enforcement, public leadership, trial advocacy, and constitutional law to his legal practice. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Saffold served as a police officer in Madison, WI, where he handled a wide range of criminal matters, engaged in community policing, and served as a School Resource Officer.
His experience in policing provides him with firsthand insight into criminal investigations, police procedures, and the constitutional issues that arise during law enforcement encounters. Attorney Saffold developed a strong understanding of Fourth Amendment protections and the importance of safeguarding individuals’ constitutional rights. Today, he uses that experience to aggressively defend clients facing criminal charges and to pursue Fourth Amendment claims involving unlawful searches and seizures, excessive force, unlawful detentions, and related constitutional violations.
Attorney Saffold later served as Director of Safety, Security, and Crisis Management for a Wisconsin school district, where he led school safety initiatives, emergency preparedness training, and threat assessment protocols. He also developed and implemented comprehensive Wisconsin Act 143 processes designed to protect students and staff while reducing legal liability exposure for the district. From 2019 through 2023, he was appointed to the Office of School Safety Advisory Committee at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, helping advise on statewide school safety initiatives and best practices.
In 2020, Attorney Saffold was appointed by Governor Tony Evers to serve on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, where he helped guide policy and strategic direction for Wisconsin’s public university system while advocating for greater educational access and opportunity.
Attorney Saffold later attended law school, where he focused heavily on trial advocacy. He trained under nationally recognized trial attorneys and participated in highly competitive mock trial competitions to sharpen his courtroom advocacy skills. While working with Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, he gained valuable courtroom experience handling criminal matters and prosecuting cases, further solidifying his passion for trial work and criminal law.
During the later part of law school, Attorney Saffold focused his studies on Estate Planning. In addition to Criminal Defense and Civil Rights litigation, he assists individuals and families with creating comprehensive estate plans that ensure security and peace of mind for themselves and their loved ones.
