Douglas J. Jacobs does not know how to prepare an accurate non-resident inheritance return. He offered this service to me and completely botched it up. He signed of on a non-resident return with resident schedules via delegation to non-licensed staff. I had to file an appeal with the PA revenue board of appeals and received a refund of just under $12,000.00. Had Attorney Jacobs knew what he was doing, I never would have been forced to overpay the inheritance taxes. Luckily, the state paid me interest for over payment held for 7 months. Do not under any circumstances hire this Attorney (Douglas J. Jacobs) for Probate, Real Estate or Inheritance Tax. He is not hands on.
Does not use an engagement letter/agreement Staff is not knowledgeable about the situation at hand. I heard ( "I don't know" ) on several occasions when asking questions. Unacceptable in any law practice. Very hard to get a hold of, I understand that some may have health issues, but overall unresponsive. Maybe it's time to retire... That is my best suggestion. I would definitely look elsewhere when selecting an Attorney in the Milford, Pa area
