Mr. Prater prepared a complicated estate plan for my parents. He made certain he knew exactly how they wanted things done. He prepared quality paperwork that accomplished exactly what they wanted. His prices were extremely reasonable. He responded to our questions and later contacted us about changes in the law and steps we might want to take to address them. He was extremely knowledgeable and good at explaining things in plain English. I would recommend him without reservation.

Hired Law Firm

I hired Mr. Prater to do transnational work in administrating an estate. He was extremely unresponsive where I as the Trustee, as well as beneficiaries and their attorneys were always waiting for him. It became so frustrating we ended up drafting our own responses and mutual release. He was always apologetic, but the quality of his responses and timeliness only got worse. It became clear that his head is no longer in his practice.

Clients seem to exist solely for the benefit of Mr. Prater. My wife and I have tried since 2014 to put in place our estate planning and will with this attorney, and after almost $1500 it still is not done. He does not respond to emails regarding questions, and he does not communicate back after paperwork is turned in. His secretary gave us the wrong date for our follow-up appointment, and did not inform us of the requirement for both of us to be present. Way too expensive for too little work!!!

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
