Sandra Stanfield is a founding partner of Stanfield Bechtel Law, located in Middletown, Connecticut. A graduate of Wesleyan University, she earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Her extensive legal experience spans multiple areas, including legal, dental, and nursing home malpractice; employment and discrimination law; personal injury; workers’ compensation; professional negligence; probate litigation; insurance defense; premises liability; contract disputes; and business formation. Attorney Stanfield is admitted to practice in Connecticut state and federal courts, as well as Massachusetts state courts. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, litigating cases at trial and on appeal before Connecticut's state, appellate, and supreme courts. Her experience includes advocacy before administrative bodies such as the Connecticut Claims Commission, the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and the Workers' Compensation Commission. She also contributed to an amicus brief supporting marriage equality in Kerrigan v. Commissioner of Public Health.
Beyond her legal practice, Sandra is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She has also coached mock trial teams, mentored pre-law students, and judged moot court competitions, demonstrating her dedication to fostering the next generation of legal professionals.
