William Janes

We were very happy to hire Mr. Janes on a friend's recommendation. He is very direct and no nonsense, which is what you want when he is negotiating with the other side. So you might not get a hug from him but you will get a very skilled and competent attorney. He responds promptly and often with a sense of humor which does lighten the darkness that goes along with the divorce process.

Very upfront

Atty Janes is a very competent lawyer! He helped me to get back on my feet after being devastated by my husband leaving me. He kept my best interests at hand and even won an appeal to change divorce law in Indiana on my behalf. I highly recommend him! He and the firm of Braje, Nelson and Janes are the best!

Very bad decision for me. He claimed my husband should be more worried what he has to pay me and he wouldn't get much from me. I got nothing! I paid in full for lawyer $2,500 after I lost and owed $12,500 to my ex, whom moved in my home that was paid for before I got married with inheritance money. Been in my home 22 years. Husband lived here 6 years. I put all the money in for updates, I get a bill for another $1200. He was very rude everytime I spoke to him! We never went to court. 2 meetings in my lawyers office. I'm on disability while my ex makes $75,000 a year. I didn't cause the divorce . I trusted this lawyer. I contacted him that I was needing a restraining order, he wouldn't help with that. Told him I had to block exes number. His secretary quit after I hired him. I provided all my paperwork and prof this was family money. Went by appraisal on my home I paid for and money I put in, I paid my taxes and insurance on my home. The lawyer never even came out while I had to sign

I hired Mr Bill Janes, for my divorce attorney in 1996. My husband and I had purchased a house together. After 10 years of marriage I was done with his drinking and cheating. My children were very young, when I told Mr Janes I my X-2-B to move and he refused, Mr Janes told me if he won’t move out, then you and your kids need to Leave! I was so upset that he did NOTHING to protect my children and I, but did as my attorney instructed. We were told that who ever was staying in the house, was to maintain the property. After taking 2 years to get divorced, February,(windchill -28) we moved back into our home. My Ex had DESTROYED the house! There was no heat, water pipes had ruptured, the toilet was broken, the roof leaked and dinning room ceiling fell, the front door had been kicked in & would close. I took pictures of the damage, called Mr Janes, he did nothing and I had to pay 1/2 of what was in equity to my Ex. Mr Janes said “be happy you have your house back.” HE IS THE WORST ATTORNEY!

Absolute jerk. Doesn't like to return emails, and communication is horrible. I sent 2 emails, and had 2 call for 2 days...just to get a nasty response...for a simple question. Oh...and if you want a statement, be sure it will happen on his time. The other attorney's are helpful. Unfortunately i got stuck with this jerk.

He fails to let a client know when court has been canceled. he fails to make court dates. he fails to call back clients when asked to return a call. he has taken two years and still has not settled to lower child support payments or get them dropped all together because he said it is equal on both parents.
