Stefan Diaz Espinosa’s primary focus is to secure justice for his clients. In order to meet this end and achieve justice, he has tried nine complex federal matters in federal court-where he represented the United States of America-and more than a dozen cases before state court judges.
Prior to joining the firm, Stefan was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. There, he honed his investigative skills-embodying the principle that no stone shall be left unturned when collecting evidence-while managing and working with teams from multiple three letter agencies, and prosecuted hundreds of individuals and criminal organizations of federal crimes, including murder-for-hire, narcotics trafficking, child exploitation offenses, fraud offenses, aggravated identity theft, interstate and international property crimes, and money laundering. He also successfully briefed several matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and defended multiple federal convictions from collateral attacks.
Earlier in his career, Stefan served as an Assistant Public Defender for Miami-Dade County. There, he learned the power of zealous, passionate advocacy and defended clients in the state criminal justice system.
Born and raised in Miami, Stefan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, and graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree.
