Ms. Ready joined the Walton Lantaff team in 1997, following a fascinating professional journey which included roles in business management, a music degree and marketing minor from The Ohio State University and early aspirations in Music Management. In a decisive professional pivot, Ms. Ready earned her law degree at the University of Miami School of Law, graduating cum laude. During her law school career, she contributed to both the Business Law Journal and the Florida Sports & Entertainment Law Review. Her primary area of practice lies in insurance defense and appeals, with an emphasis on Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.
At the core of Ms. Ready’s personal and professional identity is her inquisitive and intellectual range, coupled with a fiercely analytical mindset. Even in law school, her drive for thorough understanding led her to conduct interdisciplinary research spanning themes of early geology, labor disputes, human migration, and - early in the days of its conceptual emergence - intersectionality. This pursuit demonstrates her longstanding open-mindedness, curiosity and unparalleled ability to critically synthesize complex information, which stand as her strongest professional assets.
Ms. Ready’s intellect and expertise have led her to become a highly sought-after thought leader, appearing at conferences and panels across Florida and the United States. Within the state, she has lectured on Medicare Secondary Payer compliance and served on panels at the Florida Workers’ Compensation Institute (2010-11). Nationally, she has twice spoken as an expert panelist at the NAMSAP Annual Education Conference in Baltimore (2013) and New Orleans (2015), and presented at the American Bar Association’s Legal Professional Liability Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona (2010). Her further accolades include inaugural membership in the Richard A. Sicking American Inn of Court and an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the high regard in which she is held by both Judges and her colleagues.
As your attorney, Ms. Ready offers a compelling blend of interpersonal strengths - efficiency, honesty, highly responsive communication and professionalism - and legal skills including impactful legal writing, a sharply analytical mind and a natural drive to get to the heart of every issue.
