A native of Miami, Florida, Brett was inspired early in life by watching his father practice in the Miami criminal courts, shaping his client-focused, proactive approach. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami — where he co-founded the Pre-Legal Society — and his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law, where he was actively involved in trial advocacy and national mock trial competitions. After graduating and passing the Florida Bar, Brett began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, where he handled thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases — including DUI, domestic violence, battery, drug offenses, theft, aggravated assault/battery, robbery, sexual battery, juvenile cases, and probation violations — and tried hundreds of matters to verdict in both County and Circuit Courts. Throughout his career, he has been appointed to serve on a Florida Bar Grievance Committee for three consecutive years, reflecting his professionalism and ethical reputation.
