Andrew J. Rankin is a second-generation American born in Brooklyn, New York, to a Polish mother and a Jewish father. At age 10, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he has lived ever since. He graduated summa cum laude from The University of Memphis in 2009 with a B.A. in Foreign Languages (Spanish concentration) and a minor in History, with a focus on Latin America. Andrew went on to earn his Juris Doctor from The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2018, graduating at the top of his class with summa cum laude honors and receiving 13 highest-grade awards.
Before starting his own practice in 2019, Andrew spent a decade working at a private immigration law firm, where he handled complex removal defense cases, family-based immigration, humanitarian benefits, and citizenship matters. As a fluent Spanish speaker, he works directly with clients without the need for an interpreter, ensuring clear communication and minimizing stress. His deep commitment to immigration law stems from his family’s history of fleeing Nazi persecution during World War II.
Andrew is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and serves in various leadership roles in the Memphis immigration legal community.
