Hired Attorney

Unfortunately, when I first engaged her for legal guidence and help, she appeared caring and knowledgeable. However, as time went on I felt this was a manipulative sales tatic to snag me as a billing source. I made it "crystal clear," to her, with a witness present on multiple occasions that permanent guardianship would be out of my financial reach and/or abilities. Emergency Temporary Guardianship was necessary, but with a Duarable Power of Attorney and Advanced Directives in place, initially she even confirmed that this was sufficent. I felt pressured and manipulated to seek permanent guardianship. Do not seek guardianship unless you can afford to waste $25,000 ++++ in legal fees. Contested guardianship is even more money, and you will be facing court costs too, with a litigator and her (double legal fees). In addition, you must file accounting reports which is also extremely costly. Complete financial disclosure for this entie process should be in writing at the beginning! NOT!

All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database.
