If it is true that only a small percentage of attorneys lack professional competence, Mr. Manaras certainly falls into that category. What is probably worse, however, is his utter disregard for responding to communications - letters, phone calls, faxes. For six months following his acceptance of a retainer, he engaged in no discernible legal work, provided no status information to his client, and flatly refused to respond to any communications. In my opinion, Mr. Manaras is a scoundrel.
Mr. Manaras does not tell you all the possibilities. He tells you the best that can happen and then when it doesn't, wants more money for the next best thing that can happen. This continues throughout the court process. He does not return calls and when you do talk to him insists he did not tell you things you know he has. I do not believe he advocates for his clients and I would never recommend him to anyone.
