About Joseph Patrick Lesniak

Joseph Lesniak earned his Bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Villanova University in 2000. He went onto receive his Juris Doctorate from the Villanova University School of Law in 2003. After law school Mr. Lesniak served in the Delaware County District Attorney's Office for over nine years serving a majority of that time in the Special Victims Domestic Violence Division prosecuting hundreds of sexual assaults, child abuse and domestic violence cases. While in that division he served as the Chief and lead prosecutor for the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC), under a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. The Taskforce investigates and prosecutes Internet exploitation and child pornography cases. Mr. Lesniak helped to create and teach the policies and techniques utilized across the Commonwealth which has lead to many successful prosecutions of child exploiters both state and federally.

While in the District Attorney's Office Mr. Lesniak was responsible for the creation and presentation of many community outreach programs on important topics such as: Protection From Abuse Orders, Internet Safety, Prosecuting Kidnapping and Computer Based Crimes, Bullying, Cyber-bullying, School Safety and Custody Issues. He has presented both locally and nationally for such organizations as the National District Attorney's Association, U.S. Department of Justice and the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse.

Mr. Lesniak also served as the Nether Providence Township Solicitor for over two years. In that position he drafted numerous ordinances, represented the Township on several complex zoning issues and developed sound policies. He was integral in drafting a new comprehensive Civil Service Ordinance that brought the Township in compliance with state mandates while ensuring fairness in the process of selecting competent police officers.

Mr. Lesniak is an adjunct professor of Political Science at the Pennsylvania State University, served as the chairman of the Delaware County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board and on the Board of the Delaware County Bar Association.

Joe is an outstanding criminal defense attorney who brings a rare combination of expertise, integrity, and compassion to every case. From our first meeting, he made me feel understood and supported, taking the time to explain everything clearly and without judgment. Joe listens with empathy, answers questions thoroughly, and never makes you feel like just another case. His command of the law and strategic thinking gave me confidence throughout the entire process. In court, he’s calm, sharp, and fiercely protective of his clients’ rights. What really sets Joe apart is his honesty—he tells it like it is, never overpromising, but always fighting hard for the best possible outcome. He’s responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about the people he represents. If you’re facing legal trouble and want someone who will truly have your back, Joe is the person you want in your corner. I’m incredibly grateful and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a strong defense.

It was evident, from how successfully Joe handled each of my hearings, that he stays up to date and dedicates himself to intensely studying the case law. I have been constantly amazed at how promptly he wrote effective motions. Most of them were ruled in our favor. During the trial, Joe spoke clearly and persuasively (as he always does.) He used his great analytical skills to pull apart the case and successfully defend my innocence. His interpersonal skills shone when he masterfully balanced likability with the sometimes-necessary aggressiveness. I was in awe. The judge was in awe. The jurors were in awe. There are honestly way too many legal rules and strategies in sexually based crimes that an average criminal defense attorney will not be able to successfully defend you. Depending on the alleged crime, we are talking about a difference between your freedom vs 15-20years of imprisonment. Do yourself a favor and Call the Law Offices of Joseph Lesniak Today!

Joe Lesniak consulted and represented us on an incident that occurred to our son. Joe was very knowledgable, professional, and took the time to explain the steps that could be taken to address the incident and possible outcomes as a result of each step. His consultation helped us address the incident properly knowing we had all the information we needed to make the correct decisions.

If I could give 0 stars I would. He was not forth coming with matters that could happen. Every possible outcome of the case was a lie. The only thing he did not lie about was his fee. Minimal contact with client, even when requesting updates. No advance meetings to discuss outcome or deals regarding case. Very poor practice. Please do not waste your money.
