Shannon recently returned to the practice of law upon her retirement as a Judge in the Hanover County and Juvenile Domestic Relations District Court, where she served for thirteen years. During her time on the bench, Shannon served as Chief Judge as well as a Chair and Member of the Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission. Prior to taking the bench, Shannon served as the Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Newport News and County of Hanover, specializing in prosecution of violent crimes and complex narcotic offenses. During her time as a prosecutor, Shannon also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting cases in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and providing legal advice to members of the Violent Crimes Task Force.
Shannon is pleased to once again be pursuing her passion, advocating for individuals in need of skilled legal representation. As a member of the firm McCaul Martin, PC, in Mechanicsville, Virgina, Shannon specializes in matters of Criminal Law including DUI and traffic offenses, protective order litigation, and Family Law matters involving custody, visitation, support and divorce litigation.
Shannon grew up in Hanover County, where she currently resides with her husband and two children, enjoying life as an engaged member of the community.
