Charles E. Miller represented our family in a legal matter from 2011-2017 that required knowledge of property law. He earned a rating of 1 (poor) based on competency, diligence, and communication. Our written agreement was terminated in March 2017 when he told me, “find another attorney then” after a court appearance when the judge told him that when it comes to real estate, before the day was over he needed to sit down and familiarize himself with statues and orders so he will know how to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. Several times I drove from out-of-state to appear before the judge but I was not on the docket. One day I requested information from him about the case and his response was, "I do not have time to teach you the law." From 2011-2016, whenever I requested an invoice he would say I was trying to "nickel and dime" him. In 2016 he sent the first invoice which had an overwhelming incorrect balance. He did not even consider the two retainer fees paid to him.
