He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, laying a solid foundation for his legal career. Burt then pursued his legal studies at Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas.During his first year of law school, Burt's exceptional abilities and commitment to the field were recognized when he was selected as a member of the esteemed Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity, Elliot Inn. Throughout his academic journey, Burt continued to excel, and in his third year, he provided invaluable research and editing assistance to Professor James P. George. Their collaborative work resulted in the publication of an article entitled "False Conflicts and Faulty Analyses: Judicial Misuse of Governmental Interests in the Second Restatement of Conflict of Laws" in the University of Texas School's annual Review of Litigation.Burt's legal experience expanded further when he served as a student law clerk for the United States Attorney's Office in its Civil Division. In this role, he primarily conducted thorough research on claims filed against various federal agencies under the Federal Tort Claims Act. This experience deepened his understanding of civil litigation and honed his research skills.
