A member of the Sutton Law Group team for more than a decade, Matthew is a specialist in workers’ compensation litigation, as well as commercial and general civil liability litigation.
A native of Arkansas but raised in metropolitan Detroit, Matthew moved south to attend the University of South Carolina (as a member of the Honors College) and the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Matthew is licensed to practice law in all Florida State Courts and in all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Georgia.
Recognized since 2020 as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and one of Georgia’s elite workers’ compensation defense lawyers, Matthew’s practice is devoted to the representation of employers, insurers, self-insured companies, and servicing agents for workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia. A member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia, Matthew also has served the legal profession through four terms on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division, as well as through the State Bar of Georgia’s Bench & Bar Committee. Matthew has been recognized on multiple occasions by the State Bar for his service and contributions to the legal profession.
Outside of work Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, Michelle, and their daughters and dog. Matthew is also a sports lover and enjoys watching his many favorite teams, especially the Gamecocks, Lions and (Detroit) Tigers.
