Hunt & Kahn, P.A. is a law firm established in 1977 with an office in Margate, FL. At this office location, there are 5 lawyers practicing debt collection.
Wagner and Hunt have continually called, threaten and are now attempting to sue me in small claims court for actually PAYING them on my debt consistently for 16 consecutive months. This firm is abusing the limits of the law and i can assure you that this is the first of MANY email and mail complaints that i will be registering.
No actually acknowledgement that they received the payment when you submit the payment. They should join 21st century technology by allowing payment by debit card. Almost no one writes checks anymore. SMH(shaking my head).The website is horrible, horrendous and outdated.
The law office of Hunt & Khan has been harassing me about a debt in collections and has been unable to provide proof of the origin of the debt. They have also threatened me with coming up with an agreement to pay or facing a lawsuit with the added court fees. These actions may be in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices when attempting to collect a debt. This includes threatening legal action when it is not legally allowed, or threatening to do so in an attempt to coerce payment. Debt collectors must also provide written notice of the debt within five days of their initial communication with you, and the notice must include the name of the creditor, the amount of the debt, and your rights under the FDCPA.
I had a Rooms to Go Synchrony cc that was included in my Bankruptcy Ref#1106197-04/27/2011-yet the charged off debt was sold to Hunt & Kahn I had a Rooms to Go Synchrony cc that was included in my Bankruptcy Ref#1106197-04/27/2011 AND DISCHARGED. Yet this one specific charged off debt was sold to debt collectors, Hunt & Kahn, P.A. representing Cavalry SPV I, a well known debt buyer. I have REPEATED responded to Hunt & Kahn's aggressive collection attempts by advising them that this collection amount was discharged in my Bankruptcy from 4/27/2011. They have also erroneously increased the amount that was discharged by 40% and now are garnishing my wages to recover the discharged amount - which was also overinflated from the original discharged amount.
