Elie brings a wealth of experience to Haya Rashed Al Khalifa Attorneys at Law & Legal Consultants. He began his career at the Rizk Law Office in Lebanon, where he gained experience in Commercial, Administrative and Civil Law. He has served as Lawyer and Legal counsel with E. Kanaan and Co. Law Firm, a Lebanese commercial law firm associated with law firms in Europe and the GCC. He has been involved in rendering legal advice to clients in Lebanon and abroad, and he has gained substantial experience in corporate commercial and civil law.
In 2001, he was admitted as a solicitor in the Beirut Bar Association. He is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers, Brussels, and is founder-member, Committee of Sports Activities, within the Beirut Bar Association. He has also participated in various legal seminars concerning Cross-border Commercial Lending Transactions, International Law and Money Laundering Crimes in Chicago, USA.
Elie has also been a member of numerous consultation working groups, including the Bahrain Economic Development Board working group on Trusts. He completed his Law and Litigation Bachelor (L.L.B) from the Sagesse University, School of Law, Beirut, in 2001, with honours.
Elie obtained an Islamic Finance Qualification from the Securities & Investment Institute, UK in 2009.
He also completed his L.LM in Business and Corporate Law from the University of San Diego, in 2010.
Elie is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
