Attorney Provis was again sanctioned (punished for misconduct) by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. On August 30, 2024 the 7th Circuit ordered Provis and his client to pay an additional $25,512.06 “as compensation for this frivolous appeal” see #22–2521 7th Cir. The court found that Provis, by handling an appeal of the case he knew already declared to be frivolous and filed for improper purposes, had assisted his client in continuing a years—long campaigning of harassment. The 7th Circuit Court also ordered its clerk to send a copy of its opinion to Wisconsin OLR, the office of the Wisconsin Supreme Court which disciplines lawyers for misconduct. Provis advertises on the internet that he’s “an expert” on appeals. In fact the 7th Circuit found that Provis’ brief here was “largely incoherent” and the Court dismissed the appeal because it was filed too late. Provis now owes well over $70,000.00 to the victims of his misconduct.
Attorney Provis was recently sanctioned by Federal District Judge William Conley for improperly preparing and filing a frivolous civil RICO complaint against a number of defendants. Provis’ complaint was dismissed with prejudice against each defendant. Provis was ordered by Judge Conley to pay all attorneys’ fees and expenses for three defendants. Provis now owes those defendants over forty thousand dollars. Provis misconduct also exposed his client, the plaintiff in the case, to Judge Conley’s order to pay all the same $40+ thousand in fees and costs. Judge Conley also found that Provis filed the RICO case for an improper purpose. Namely, Provis was assisting his client in carrying on a many years old vendetta and harassment of defendants.
